2. From class yesterday, we were working on the 4 epic conventions and the 2 literary style choices.

4 Epic Conventions:

• Demonstrations of majestic scale
• Larger-than-life characters
• Elements of the supernatural
• Glorifying events in the past

Literary Style of Epic:

• Epic simile
• Epithets

In Schoology, put an example of each of the Epic Conventions, and Epithets as seen in Book 1 of The Iliad. You will see the assignment posted with further explanation.
