"The White Man's Burden"
Keep in mind... this poem was written in 1899. Kipling was trying to encourage President Roosevelt and the United States to fight for control of the Philippines. This poem demonstrates the Colonialist viewpoint of non-western/Christian nations. It should be an uncomfortable read.
